What to Take

Meeru: What to Take Now there is a question...

You know what its like, especially the ladies who like to take an outfit and a pair of shoes for every eventually. You need to take no more than lightweight cotton clothing, swimwear, short, sandals, a hat and a pair of sunglasses. You may want to take some rainwear although even when it is raining it is still warm and there is always somewhere to take shelter. Topless and nude sunbathing is forbidden in the Maldives so please respect the culture.

Beachwear should be confined to the beach and many of the restaurants will ask you to dress accordingly at meal times.

Please also note that it is actually illegal to bring into the country Alcohol, Drugs, Pornography (which can be interpreted quite widely by the Maldivian authorities) , firearms or idols for worship.

You will not need any electrical adaptors as all islands operate on a 220v-240v 3 pin plug the same as our UK sockets.
